Looking at some fall home improvement projects? The 35th annual Fall Atlanta Home Show and Outdoor Living Expo, presented by Marketplace Events, is Friday, Sept. 7 through Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Hundreds of exhibitors will showcase some of the newest and most innovative interior and exterior home improvement products and services. GO!
Brett Tutor, the new carpenter on TLC’s popular show “Trading Spaces”, will be the home show’s featured speaker. He is the former host of the TV show, “New Home Source” and founder of the nonprofit Off the Grid International, which builds water and sanitation systems in remote areas of the world. Tutor will speak at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9.
“Hopefully, if you enjoy ‘Trading Spaces,’ then you’ll enjoy the talk,” said Tutor, who will be filming the next season of “Trading Spaces” this month. “I’m going to be talking about (‘Trading Spaces’) and be there hanging out with you and taking pictures and answering questions individuals might have. If you’ve ever wanted to talk to one of the TV contractors, we’ll be there. It will be fun.”
Tutor will bring four of his custom-made American flag cutting boards for attendees to bid on after each of his presentations. He will personalize each board as requested by the winner, and the proceeds will be donated to Brookwood in Georgetown, a Texas-based nonprofit that provides meaningful work to adults with functional disabilities.
The show offers improvement ideas for all home types and budgets. Attendees can comparison shop for kitchens and baths, porches and decks, heating and electrical systems, doors and windows, pools and hot tubs, home decor and so much more all under one roof. They can see products demonstrated, speak one-on-one with the experts and set up appointments. Many exhibitors offer special discounts for show attendees, too.
“You’re going to see a lot of really, really cool and unique things from good deals on swimming pools to patios, all the latest and greatest gadgets for your home. Get a lot of ideas of things you might be interested in doing or buying. It’s a really amazing place where all these different companies come. There’s a lot of really cool stuff to look at,” Tutor said.
Guests will have an opportunity for one-on-one conversations.
“The community comes together with these local contractors and businesses,” Tutor added. “It’s a great opportunity to hire local people and to learn a lot and see cool products. Come with a hundred questions and leave with a hundreds answers. I’m excited to see everybody. If you’re on the fence about coming out, you should definitely check it out, especially if it’s your first time coming to a home show.”
Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9. General admission tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the show’s entrance.
Attendees can save $2 per ticket by purchasing them in advance online at FallAtlantaHomeShow.com. Children age 12 and under and adults age 65 and older (with I.D.) are admitted free.
