The Hoyas (6-6, 3-0 Region 4AAAAAA) sent eight batters to the plate in the top of the eighth. They collected three hits, two walks and a hit batsman in helping produce the four runs.
Campbell led 2-1 after three innings, but Austin Kuchinski’s two-out RBI single in the fifth tied the game.
Kuchinski finished with two hits and two RBIs. Austin Sanders had two hits, including a double, and a RBI.
Ben Schniederjans (1-2) allowed four hits and struck out four over three innings of relief but didn’t allow a run to get the victory. Starter Nick Sexton gave up two runs — none earned — on two hits and struck out seven in five innings.
Harrison will host Campbell on Friday.
Pope 8, Sprayberry 3: The Greyhounds trailed 2-0 after the first inning, but rallied with a run in the third and fourth innings, as well as three in the fifth and sixth, to pick up the Region 7AAAAA home victory.
Carl Williams batted 2-for-4 with two home runs and two RBIs for Pope (7-5, 6-2). He hit a solo homer in the third and a three-run homer in the fifth.
Steven Skruck added a solo home run in the fourth, while John Fladine had two hits.
Patrick Wiseman (3-1) collected the win after giving up three runs — one earned — on three hits, while striking out 14 in six innings.
Bobby Gauvreau led off the game with a home run for Sprayberry. Michael Chavis batted 2-for-3.
Pope will host Kell on Friday.
North Cobb 10, South Cobb 2: The Warriors scored four runs in the fith inning and three runs in the sixth to pull away for the Region 4AAAAAA win.
Trevor Devine stole three bags for the Warriors, while also scoring twice and hitting 2-for-4. Patrick Smith went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and three RBIs.
Daulton Hill won on the mound, going five innings, allowing nine hits, three walks and two runs against four strikeouts.
North Cobb (7-6, 3-2) will host the Eagles today.
Lassiter 3, Ringgold 2: Eric Ankerholz hit the go-ahead RBI single in the top of the sixth inning to help the Trojans to a one-run victory in a non-region game.
Tyler Elwer went 0-for-2 at the plate, but still managed sacrifice flies in the third and fifth innings.
Nate Dupree pitched five innings for the Trojans, recording nine strikeouts. Both runs were unearned.
Lassiter (7-3) will play Milton on Friday in its first region matchup.
Kell 11, Cambridge 2: The Longhorns got their scoring out of the way early, with 10 runs in the first two innings of the Region 7AAAAA home game.
Justin Russell drove in three runs without the benefit of a hit. He drew two bases-loaded walks and added a sacrifice fly.
Ryan Losito had two RBIs, while Jamari Moore and Matthew McGuigan each had two hits.
Grant Morgan (2-1) scattered two hits and struck out one over four innings. Cambridge didn’t get its lone runs until the fifth inning.
Kell (8-5, 5-2) will travel to Pope on Friday.
North Cobb Christian 17, Mount Zion-Carroll 11: Reliever Ryan Martin allowed just one run over the final 4 1/3 innings, allowing the Eagles to escape the slugfest with a Region 6A win.
Martin gave up just a hit and a walk, striking out three.
Rabon Martin was 4-for-5 with a walk and an RBI, while Dylan Crumbley was 3-for-4 with a double, walk, two stolen bases and an RBI. Zach Cornell was 2-for-4 with two walks and two stolen bases, with Trip Ross and Canon Robinson each contributing a pair of RBIs.
North Cobb Christian will travel Saturday to Landmark Christian.
Mount Paran Christian 7, Calhoun 5: Trailing 4-0, the Eagles used a five-run fourth inning to jump on top and hold a lead to keep their undefeated record in tact.
Will Schnure went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Taylor Trammel went 2-for-4 with a single, a home run, and an RBI. Colton Cannon, who hit 2-for-2, also earned the win in 4 1/3 innings pitched, allowing four hits, four walks and a run against five strikeouts.
Mount Paran (10-0) will play at Gordon Lee today.
Milton 5, Walton 3: Two runs in the opening frame negated the Raiders’ ability to come back in their first Region 5AAAAAA game of the season.
Milton had 10 hits to Walton’s four, though Avery Roberts was a bright spot for the Raiders, going 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
Walton (9-4, 0-1) will play at Woodstock today.
Christian Heritage 5, Walker 0: Mitch Golden and Zach Mudge recorded hits for the Wolverines in a loss.
James Pittinger went five innings on the mound, allowing two runs and a walk against four strikeouts.
Walker (4-9, 4-5 Region 6A) will host Gordon Lee on Monday.
Harrison 9, McEachern 0: Sari Jenson led the scoring for the Lady Hoyas with a hat trick, and Monica Herrera scored two goals to lead the Region 4AAAAAA victory.
Hannah Ostman, Audrey Tanner and Lizzy Sieracki all scored goals as well. McEachern had no shots on goal.
Harrison (8-1, 3-0) will play at North Cobb on Friday.
Whitefield Academy 8, Starr’s Mill 7: The Wolfpack used 3-0 first and third quarters to hold on to the Area 1A-AAAAA victory.
Dallas Darling scored five goals for Whitefield, followed by two from Alex Manning and one from Matt Rieves. Matt Milburn had eight saves under the net.
Whitefield (6-2) will host a Brentwood, the No. 3-ranked team from Tennessee, on Friday.
Kell 13, Baylor (Tenn.) 2: The Lady Longhorns led 8-1 at halftime and cruised to the home win.
Emily Swift had four goals and one assist to lead Kell (5-2). Haley Swift totaled three goals and three assists, while Katie Kunberger collected two goals and one assist. Leslie Ferguson posted two goals. Hannah Nemeck and Izzie Palermo each had one goal.
Hannah Rosen allowed one first half goal in net. Madison Gropp allowed the second in the second half.
Kell will be at Allatoona today for an Area 2A-AAAAA game.
Walton 5, Roswell 0: The Raiders completed an undefeated Region 5AAAAAA season, assuring themselves of the top seed for when the region tournament begins next week.
Only one of the matches went into a third set, with Raymond Zhang and Lieb Sauermann rallying for a 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
Walton dominated everywhere else. Shaunish Mookerji, Cameron Mistr and Francis Yang won the singles points, while the doubles team of Crews Enochs and Trevor Croyder also won handily.
Marietta 4, Cass 1: Zachary Garrison won 6-4, 7-6 (5) to lead the Blue Devils to a non-region win.
Marcus Brito won 6-1, 6-1, and the doubles team of Jay Buxton and Patrick Lee won 6-0, 6-3. Jacob Pope and Jackson Mitchell also prevailed for a hard-fought 7-5, 7-5 win.
Marietta (5-3) will play at North Cobb today.
Walker 4, Fellowship Christian 1: The Lady Wolverines were led by Carly Bloom (6-1, 6-2) and Mia Pattillo (6-1, 6-3) in singles play.
In the doubles, Audrey Cunningham and Caroline Kunetz won 6-2, 6-0, while Gabi Champion and Leigh Norsworthy won 6-2, 6-4.
Walker (6-2, 4-0 Area 4A) will play today at home against Wesleyan.
Kennesaw Mountain 4, Allatoona 1: The Lady Mustangs won in all three singles slots and beat last year’s Class AAA state champion.
Samantha Armas led off with a 6-4, 6-4 win, followed by Nicole Croxton’s 6-0, 6-1 win and Chika Okonkwo’s 6-3, 6-1 win.
In the doubles, Marilyn Corn and Katie Monroe won 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.
Allatoona’s winners came in the second doubles slot, with Melanie Whitley and Kristie Cooper winning 7-6, 6-2.
Kennesaw Mountain (8-2) will host Region 4AAAAAA rival Pebblebrook today. Allatoona (8-1-1) will be at Woodland-Bartow for a Region 5AAAAA match.
Allatoona 161, Kennesaw Mountain 164: The Buccaneers’ Robbie Marston shot a 39, followed by teammate Greg Harnage’s 40.
For the Mustangs, Jonathan Keppler turned in a card of 39 and Stewart Lawrence shot a 40.
Kennesaw Mountain will play against Hillgrove at Dogwood in its next match, while both Kennesaw Mountain and Allatoona play in the Bentwater Invitational on Saturday.
Whitefield Academy 163, Fellowship Christian 205: Will Schultz shot a low round 38 to lead the Wolfpack to the win at Dogwood Country Club.
James Schultz and Sam Fishbeck each shot 41, while Hunter Holiday carded a 43.
Whitefield will take on Pope and Mount Paran Christian as part of a tri-match today at Marietta City Club.
Walton 131, Harrison 133: Abbey Williams’ 40 led the Lady Raiders past their county rival.
Meredith Singer (45) and Autumn Gabe (46) also helped Walton’s victory.
Allison Black had the low score of the match with a 39 for Harrison.
Walton (3-0) will face Region 5AAAAAA rival Woodstock today at Indian Hills. Harrison (2-2) will play Wednesday against Kennesaw Mountain at Marietta Country Club.
