Freshman Grayson Harbin threw a no-hitter, Peter Derkay blasted a grand slam during an eight-run fourth inning and coach Keith Hansen earned his 200th career victory in Allatoona’s 10-0 five-inning win over New Manchester on Friday.

The Buccaneers (4-1, 1-0) only had 10 hits, but they drew 12 walks and had two hit batsmen.

Harbin (2-0) struck out 11 and walked four in picking up Allatoona’s second no-hitter this week and second in the program’s history. Senior T.J. Watson pitched a perfect game Wednesday.

Austin Rogers and Watson each had two RBIs.

The win was Hansen’s 80th at Allatoona. He began his career at Alexander.

Allatoona will travel to Woodland-Bartow on Monday.

North Cobb 4, Cherokee 3: Pinch-hitter Nolan Greckel drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the sixth inning to drive in the eventual winning run to lift the Warriors to a non-region victory.

Cherokee scored three runs in the top of the sixth to take a one-run lead, but North Cobb’s Tyler Martin and Trevor Devine singled to start the inning. Billy Rose put down a sacrifice bunt and was safe on an error to load the bases.

Chandler Sievers tied the game with an RBI single and then Greckel walked to give the Warriors the 4-3 lead.

Martin finished the game 2-for-3 with and RBI, Eli Sepnieski had a double and Seivers was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Devine pitched six innings, allowing five hits and one earned run while striking out eight to earn the win. Noah Hahlbohn earned the save.

North Cobb (4-3) will travel to Alpharetta today.

Walker 3, King’s Ridge Christian 2: The Wolverines scored three runs in the third inning and made them hold up as they won the Region 6A contest.

Trailing 1-0 with two outs in the third, Austin Walker got the rally started with a walk and a stolen base. Mitchell Golden doubled to score Walker, and Cameron Bloebaum followed with a double to score Golden.

James Pittinger pitched a complete game allowing one earned run on six hits.

Walker (2-6, 2-3) will travel to Whitefield Academy on Monday.

Sprayberry 10, Forsyth Central 3: Bobby Gauvreau pitched a one-hitter, and the Yellow Jackets took advantage of seven Forsyth Central errors to win the Region 7AAAAA contest.

Gauvreau’s only hit allowed came to the first batter of the game, who doubled.

Clint Coleman went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs to lead the Sprayberry offense.

The Yellow Jackets (2-5, 2-0) will host Northview on Monday.

Mount Paran Christian 9, Mount Pisgah Christian 2: Three hits apiece from Taylor Trammel and Jake Palomaki keyed the Eagles to the non-region road win.

Trammel also had an RBI, with Isaac Phillips going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Ryan Murphy had two RBIs.

Andrew Maxwell went six innings, allowing four hits one unearned run and striking out three.

Mount Paran (6-0) will travel Monday to Fellowship Christian.

Fellowship Christian 6, North Cobb Christian 4: The Eagles had an 8-3 advantage in hits, but seven stranded baserunners proved to be their downfall.

Tripp Ross led North Cobb Christian with his first home run of the season and drove in three runs, while Dylan Crumbley drove in the other run with an RBI single.

Robert Gnann had three hits, including a double. Rabon Martin also doubled, and Zach Cornell and Josh Schibi each had singles.

North Cobb Christian will travel Monday to King’s Ridge Christian.

Hillgrove 4, Walton 3: The Hawks rallied from three runs down to beat the Raiders in a non-region game.

Hillgrove did it on Tyler Weyenberg’s walk-off single, which scored Tyler Tollefson.

The Hawks didn’t come to life offensively until the fifth, when they scored two runs to get back into the game. Justin Haney and Jacob Farmer led off with walks. Madison Skillings brought one home with a single and the other came home on an error.

Hillgrove’s bullpen was solid behind Cade Douglas, who pitched five innings of relief to get the win. He gave up one earned run and four hits with no walks.

Hillgrove (2-2) will host a three-team round robin today with Mill Creek and Hoover (Ala.).

Pope 11, Cambridge 4: The Greyhounds led 5-4 entering the second inning before pulling away for the Region 7AAAAA home victory.

Mason Shiflett batted 4-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Pope (3-3, 2-1), which had 15 hits. Nate Lowe was 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Patrick Wiseman was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Jared Parker had two hits, two stolen bases and two RBIs.

Steven Skruck (1-0) allowed four earned runs on four hits and struck out six in four innings. He also hit a two-run home run in the fourth, with Carl Williams adding a solo homer.

Pope will host Forsyth Central on Monday.

Wheeler 17, Pebblebrook 6 (5 inn.): The Wildcats took advantage of its seven hits and nine errors by the Falcons to claim the non-region win at home.

Adrian Morris, Alan Peters and Malik Johnson each had two hits and two RBIs for Wheeler (3-4-1), which scored 10 runs in the first inning and five in the second. Kyle Allen had three RBIs, while Emil Thomas, Reed Williams and Robert Roper each had one RBI.

Evan Wallace (1-0) picked up the win after giving up three earned runs on five hits while striking out four in three innings pitched.

Wheeler will host South Cobb today.

Northview 12, Osborne 2: The Cardinals got their only two runs in the fifth inning, when Charles Logan reached base on a double and Martin Logan brought him home with a two-run home run.

Northview pulled away with four runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh in the Region 7AAAAA game.

Osborne (1-3, 0-1) will play at Kell on Monday.

Dominion Christian 5, Westminster-Augusta 2: The Knights broke a 1-all tie with three runs in the third to pick up the road win.

Nick Carr batted 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored to lead Dominion (3-0). Riley Howard also had an RBI.

Andrew Giles (1-0) earned the win for Dominion, which is at Augusta Prep today.


Harrison 2, Campbell 1 (OT):
Cole Guertin scored with less than 2 minutes left in the second overtime period, providing the Hoyas with the hard-fought Region 4AAAAAA win.

Guertin also scored Harrison’s initial goal, a game-tying penalty kick in the second half.

Defender Ryne Sieracki and the four saves of goalkeeper Kevin McKay also boosted Harrison (5-2, 1-0), which will be at Hillgrove on Tuesday.

Campbell (3-4, 0-2) will host McEachern on Tuesday.

Pope 3, Riverwood 0: Josh Ziskend had a goal and an assist as the Greyhounds earned a Region 7AAAAA victory.

Austin Cardenas and Zach McCown each had goals, and Hunter Cutcliff and Colin Huber added assists.

Sean Hatcher made seven saves to earn the shutout for Pope (3-2, 3-0), which will travel to Osborne on Tuesday.

Lassiter 2, Milton 1 (OT): Alex Champion scored with 1:20 left in the first overtime to lift the Trojans to a victory in their Region 5AAAAAA opener.

Milton led 1-0 at the break, but early in the second half, Daniel Wilburn scored off Justin Black’s corner kick to tie the game.

Lassiter (8-0, 1-0) will travel to Cherokee on Tuesday.

Pebblebrook 6, Hillgrove 1: Fredy Grande netted four goals to lead the Falcons to the Region 4AAAAAA win at home.

Jose Avalos totaled a goal and two assists for Pebblebrook (3-1-1, 1-0), which led 3-0 at halftime.

Juan Cadenas had a goal and Eduardo Garcia and Edwin Mendez each had an assist.

Chris Estrada stopped three shots for Pebblebrook, which is at South Cobb on Tuesday.

Sprayberry 3, North Springs 1: After a scoreless first half, the Yellow Jackets took a 2-0 second-half advantage and held on for the win.

Antonio Valenzuela had two goals, while Kalum Eaton finished with one for Sprayberry (4-3, 1-1). Rodrigo Blankenship and Taylor Torson each had an assist.

Eric Aguirre and Mackenzie Bracket were in goal for the Yellow Jackets, who will play Sequoyah on Tuesday.

Kennesaw Mountain 1, Marietta 0: After a scoreless first half, Edgar Martinez netted the

eventual Region 4AAAAAA game-winner off a corner kick that bent into the goal with 1:15 left in the contest.

Taylor Cotton had eight saves for the Mustangs (5-2, 2-0), which will host Woodstock on Tuesday.


Kennesaw Mountain 3, Marietta 0:
The Lady Mustangs took a three-goal lead into halftime and held it for the Region 4AAAAAA win.

Maddy Giroir, Nicole Guajardo and Olivia Guajardo provided the goals, with Tayler Hartrampf adding an assist.

Meredith Bailey and Taylor Parker combined to make four saves for Kennesaw Mountain (3-5, 1-1), which will host Woodstock on Tuesday.

Marietta (2-3-1, 1-1) will host North Cobb on Tuesday.

Lassiter 4, Milton 1: Bree Thompson scored two goals to lead the Lady Trojans to a win in the Region 5AAAAAA opener.

Thompson scored both goals in the first half, with the second coming 14 seconds after the Lady Eagles had tied the game.

Megan McGuinness and Kalli Vogel each scored in the second half.

Lassiter (6-2-1, 1-0) will travel to Cheokee on Tuesday.

Allatoona 10, Hiram 0: Willough Davis and Sammi Jacob each scored three goals as the Lady Buccaneers opened Region 5AAAAA play with a victory.

McKenzy Anderson finished with two goals, Aleiya Armstrong and Caroline Golec each had two assists, and Miranda Creagan recorded the first shutout of her career in goal.

Allatoona (2-2-1, 1-0) will travel to North Paulding on Monday.

Kell 2, Creekview 0: Courtney Hendrickson had a goal and an assist as the Lady Longhorns won the Region 7AAAAA game.

After a scoreless first half, Hendrickson scored on free kick from 21 yards out to put Kell on the board.

The Lady Longhorns increased the lead when Hailey Hendrickson followed with a goal.

Lindsay McCarthy made three saves to earn the shutout.

Kell (4-3, 2-1) will host Riverwood on Tuesday.

North Cobb 10, South Cobb 0: Rachel Overley scored four goals and added an assist as the Lady Warriors rolled to a Region 4AAAAAA victory.

Renee Copeland scored three goals, Camila Guadarrama finished with two goals and Abbie Duckett added one.

North Cobb (4-4-1, 1-0) will travel to Marietta on Tuesday.

Riverwood 1, Pope 0: Riverwood scored 5 minutes into the second half and the Lady Greyhounds were unable to answer.

Pope took twice as many shots as Riverwood throughout the match but couldn’t get one to go in.

Goalkeeper Sam Piper finished with four saves for Pope (2-1-2, 2-1 Region 7AAAAA), which will play at Osborne on Monday.

Harrison 9, Campbell 0: The Lady Hoyas scored eight of their nine goals in the first half against their Region 4AAAAAA rival.

Treva Aycock led the scoring barrage with three goals. Julia Depree and Sari Jensen each had two goals, while Carly Rich and Audrey Tanner each had one.

Harrison (5-0, 1-0) will play at Hillgrove on Tuesday.

Hillgrove 5, Pebblebrook 0: Maggie Gaughan led the Lady Hawks with two goals and an assist as they earned the Region 4AAAAAA road win.

Jessica Bingham, Sydney A. Clark and Kennedy Thomas each had one goal for Hillgrove (5-2-1, 2-0), which led 3-0 at halftime. Necee Jennings had two assists, while Sydney C. Clark and Rachel Palazzo each had one.

Breanne Dykes and Ivy MacIntyre combined on the shutout for Hillgrove, which will host Harrison on Tuesday.

North Cobb Christian 2, Trion 0: Alexis Cornell scored both of the Lady Eagles’ goals in the Area 7A game.

North Cobb Christian (2-0, 1-0) will travel to St. Francis on Tuesday.


Walton 8, Peachtree Ridge 7 (2OT):
Ryan Jones scored the game-winner off an assist from Michael Gernatt with 1:09 left in the second overtime to lift the Raiders to non-area road win.

Walton (4-1) trailed 4-3 at halftime, but led 7-6 in the final minute of regulation before Peachtree Ridge scored the game-tying goal with 44 seconds left to force overtime.

Gernatt finished with two goals and three assists, while Nick Sposito had two goals and an assist. Josh Burstein and Jones each had one goal and one assist.

Jake Hornberger had seven saves for Walton, which will be at Lambert on Tuesday.

Pope 11, Riverwood 10: Parker Lavelle scored the game-winning goal to give the Greyhounds the Area 2A-AAAAA win.

Lavelle was also the leading goal scorer with four. Zach Lynch scored two goals, and Drew Arrington, Tyler Borko, Zack Wilson, Davis Glover and Cody Polifka each had one. Arrington and Borko combined for three assists.

Pope built the early lead before Riverwood rallied in the second half.


Walton 17, McIntosh 8:
Erin McBride played a role in more than half the Lady Raiders’ goals as they won the non-area game at Raider Valley.

McBride scored five goals and assisted on four others. Carly White added three goals and an assist, with Sophia Watkins providing two goals and three assists. Hannah Ashmore had two goals and an assist, while five other scored a single goal.

Emily James saved 11 shots for Walton (3-2), which will host St. Pius X on Monday.


Sprayberry 3, Sequoyah 1:
Sydney Webster’s 0-6, 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 3 clinched the Region 7AAAAA home win for the Lady Yellow Jackets.

Abbie Grant blanked at No. 1 singles while Jordan Smith dropped two games at No. 2.

Sprayberry (3-2, 2-2) is at Osborne on Wednesday.
