He grew up in Marietta, Georgia, where his love of sports and natural athletic ability were fulfilled by his participation in the abundant organized, recreational, and school sports programs the East Cobb area had to offer. His sports involvement continued into high school where he played on the varsity basketball team at Walton High School. Russ was proud to be a member of Johnson's Ferry Baptist Church and a 1985 graduate of Walton High School. After graduation Russ attended the University of Southern Mississippi. For the past twelve years in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Russ was the loving caregiver to his grandmother Lula May Bates, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his parents, Greg and Teresa Kincaid of Marietta, his brother Michael Kincaid and his sister-in-law Katie Kincaid as well as loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held on February 6 from 1PM to 3PM at H.M. Patterson & Son, Canton Hill Chapel, 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta, Georgia 30068. A memorial service will follow at 3PM.
