MARIETTA - Cobb Magistrate Judge Joan Bloom denied bond for a nurse accused of sexually assaulting women under anesthesia, and found sufficient evidence to advance the case to Cobb Superior Court.

Paul Serdula, 47, of Marietta is facing numerous felony charges, including aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, sexual assault, and eavesdropping-surveillance after police found video recorded on a cell phone of Serdula assaulting the women while they were under anesthesia.

Police first arrested Serdula on Nov. 18, accusing him of recording women in a bathroom at Goldstein Garber & Salama dental office on Galleria Parkway.

Police said a woman called 911 after finding a camera phone in the insulation of a pipe underneath a sink. Investigators later seized videos, phones and other items from Serdula's home.

The videos revealed "criminal conduct against persons who were under anesthesia at various medical or dental facilities," police said. Serdula was a contract certified registered nurse anesthetist who worked for various dental or medical physicians, not one in particular, in the metro area and outside the state, Cobb Sgt. Dana Pierce said previously.

Serdula was charged with eavesdropping and was released from Cobb County Jail after he posted a $50,000 bond. Following his arrest, Cobb police asked for help in locating victims from the videos.

He was re-arrested Nov. 23 on child molestation and aggravated sexual battery charges after one victim was identified as a 15-year-old girl, police said. He was charged with aggravated sodomy and sexual assault after another victim came forward.

Cobb Officer Christopher Twiggs testified Wednesday that there will be at least 22 more charges filed against Serdula.

This is why nobody-nurse or doctor-or other should be alone with people who are not fully alert.Another worker or family should stay in the room with patiences who are not awake. In recovery arears--family members are allowed for minor proceedures--Protect your family member by insisting they be not be left alone when they are asleep or medicated or in a stuper or coma.
