Prep Softball: Krause, Trumbull power North Cobb past McEachern

McKenzie Krause hit a three-run home run and Kayla Trumbull was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead North Cobb past McEachern 8-0 in five innings Monday.

Olivia Mould pitched a complete game allowing four hits and struck out four.

Iman Muhammad was 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, Mikila Mullen had a double and an RBI, and Casey Page added a hit and drove in one.

Kell 9, North Atlanta 1 (6 inn.): Jill Torres hit a two-run home run and Lanie Angel pitched a complete-game four-hitter to lift the Lady Longhorns to a Region 7AAAAA victory.

Addie Scott, Abby Glass and Gracie White each had two hits.

Walker 9, Mount Paran Christian 4: Lauren Brock and Ashley Cranfill each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Lady Wolverines past the Lady Eagles.

Rae Syrop pitched a complete-game two-hitter and struck out four. She also went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Katlin Seger had a double and an RBI and Lauren Brock went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Allatoona 3, Chapel Hill 2: Kara Hester got the walk-off hit with a single to right field to help Allatoona secure a region 5AAAAA game at home.

Haley Crawford led off with a single to start the bottom of the seventh and stole second base. Chapel Hill intentionally walked Hailey Reagor and Morgan Kazerooni to load the bases for Hester.

Crawford was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Reagor was 1-for-1 with an RBI. Kazerooni was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Hester was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Alley Cahal also had two hits.

Makenzie Colwart pitched and got the win for the Lady Buccaneers (7-5, 5-0). She worked all seven innings, giving up two unearned runs on six hits and had five strikeouts.

Pope 11, North Paulding 0 (5 inn.): Pope scored three runs in the first and eight runs in the fourth inning to win the shortened non-region game.

The Lady Greyhounds (6-4) compiled 12 hits total with Samantha Crabtree going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a stolen base. Lauren Palace going 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base. Caelyn Daugherty was 2-for-2 with a double and Barnhill was 1-for-3 with a two run home run.

Barnhill also threw a 2-hitter with 13 strikeouts and no walks.

South Cobb 9-13, Sprayberry 1-9: The Lady Eagles opened with a 9-1 win over the Sprayberry before prevailing 13-9 in the second.

In two games combined, South Cobb had 33 hits with 22 coming in the second game.

Terilyn Harris was 1-for-3 with a three-run home run. Dezirae Rhodes was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Kalynn Hicks was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Mariah Byk was also 2-for-3 with a double and RBI.

Emily Cargle was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI and also went to distance in the circle, giving up just one run on two hits and had three strikeouts.

In the nightcap, South Cobb was trailing 9-5 going into the sixth inning. The Lady Eagles batted around in the seventh and scored seven runs to take the lead.

Becky Collins was 4-for-5 with two doubles and scored three runs. Asia Moore was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Harris was also 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Rhodes had a three-run home run. Kierra Dudley was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
