On February 4, 2013 the Georgia State Senate honored him with a resolution recognizing his outstanding accomplishments on the behalf of Georgia workers. Mr. Gullatte served on the Atlanta Labor Council and was appointed to the State Board of Worker’s Compensation by Governor Joe Frank Harris. Senior Judge Dorothy Toth Beasley said of Mr. Gullatte, “He did not overlook people but rather paid attention to anyone who sought his assistance. He taught me a good deal about labor and laborers’ issues, in ways I otherwise would not have had opportunity to learn.” He is survived by Carrie, his loving wife of 70 years.
