POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say a Special Weapons And Tactics team has been called to a Powder Springs residence after they say a man barricaded himself inside after a fight with his wife.

CBS Atlanta reports that some neighbors living near the home along Spring Mountain Road have been evacuated.

Cobb County police were sent to the home around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities say the woman was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries sustained during the fight.

Cobb County Police Officer Mike Bowman tells WXIA-TV that negotiators early Wednesday morning were trying to convince the husband to leave the house.

Powder Springs is about 20 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.
