Marietta-based Traton Homes opened its doors in 1971 and brothers Bill and Milburn Poston were determined to build a real estate company that would stand the test of time. Forty-three years later, Traton has won numerous OBIE awards from the Greater Atlanta Homebuilder’s Association for excellence in home design and is a six-time recipient of the Guild Master Award for exceptional customer service.

The company has expanded its reach over the past four decades and offers new home communities in Cobb, Cherokee, Dekalb, Fulton and Paulding counties. In addition to metro Atlanta, Traton Homes builds luxury coastal homes at Frederica on St. Simons Island and is coming soon to Charlotte, N.C. Traton Homes also builds disaster recovery homes in Texas.

Since day one, the Poston family’s mother, Nellie Clifford Poston, has been an integral part of the company. At 95, she is still a daily presence in the Traton Homes office. Her dedication and passion were the inspiration of Traton’s newest company, Nellie Poston Custom Homes, which was launched in late 2013.
