Elite Allure Beauty Supply Store, 2860 East West Connector in Austell, announced they will have a grand opening celebration Sept. 13. The event, however, will be less about the store and more about sickle cell awareness in the community for Sickle Cell Awareness Month.
Sickle cell disease is prominent in the state of Georgia, and it hits close to home as owners Dylon and Debbie London’s two-year-old son has sickle cell anemia. Elite Allure Beauty Supply Store has teamed up with a brand new organization called Sickle Cell Matters Inc., which was established in September 2013 and is adamant about finding a cure for the disease.
The store will be raising funds through sponsors, a GoFundMe Campaign, in-store donations the entire month of September and a raffle the day of the grand opening that will go toward the growth of Sickle Cell Matters, a scholarship in memoriam of Jerry Bethea, who lost his battle with sickle cell disease, as well as a family in financial need with a child or children who suffer from the disease. The grand opening event will also feature a live radio station broadcasting, vendors from the beauty and hair industry, food and door prizes.
There are four sponsorship levels available — Platinum $1,000-plus, Gold $500-plus, Silver $250-plus and Bronze $50-plus.
