Prep Roundup: Lady Trojans open season with a win

The Lassiter softball team opened the season with a 5-2 victory over Mill Creek on Monday.

The Lady Trojans scored all five of their runs in the third inning, when they got an RBI double from Piper Wagner, an RBI single from Sally Swan and took advantage of three Mill Creek miscues.

Lassiter will travel to Allatoona on Saturday for a doubleheader with Harrison and the host Lady Buccaneers.

Mount Paran Christian goes 3-1 in playdate: The Lady Eagles opened the season at the Mount Pisgah playdate with wins over North Cobb Christian (25-11, 25-7), Kennesaw Mountain (25-18, 25-23) and Riverwood (25-15, 25-17).

Freshman Jillian Tucker had 54 assists, five aces and five blocks. Abby Darling finished with 20 kills and 18 digs. Caroline Kirk had 18 kills and eight blocks. Asher Ward compiled 28 digs.

Mount Paran (3-1) will host a tri-match today.
