The Cobb County Water System reported a wastewater manhole overflow, resulting in about 130 gallons discharged into an unnamed man-made lake, occurred at 8:47 a.m. Thursday at 2000 East-West Connector in Austell. The overflow, which was the result of grease, was stopped at 9:40 a.m. Water System workers flushed the main line to remove the blockage and debris.

This was the second sewer overflow reported in the Austell area this week. On Tuesday, the Water System reported that about 170 gallons had been discharged into a tributary of the Chattahoochee River at 490 Six Flags Drive in Austell.
