The Dinner A’Fare makes dinner an affair to remember without the hassle. The upscale studio kitchen prepares ready-to-cook gourmet, child-friendly dinners delivered right to your door.

“Our best customer is the mom who likes to cook at home, likes to eat at home but just doesn’t have the time to come up with different menu items every month. Time is probably the biggest issue but creativity also. It’s done and ready to go. You don’t even have to think about dinner,” said Ken Wright, who owns the business with his wife, Stephanie. They have one daughter: 6-year-old Geneva.

The company, celebrating 10 years in business, is based in Forsyth County but delivers throughout the metro Atlanta area including all of Cobb County.

Dinner A’Fare offers a variety chef designed entrees packaged in six or 12 meals for two to three or four to six servings. “We try to offer a wide selection of dinners that include pasta, chicken, beef, pork and fish. Every month, there are 15 different options and you choose any combination of those,” Wright said.

Typical examples include chicken piccata, jalapeño popper chicken, parmesan tilapia, Asian wraps, Cajun shrimp and sausage, and steak fajitas.

“We have a lot of those value added dinners that are tough to make at home but people love to eat them,” he said.

Dinner A’Fare only uses raw, fresh ingredients in its meals and nothing is ever prepackaged.

“We hand clean our chicken breasts. We hand cut our pork chops. We hand carve our steaks. Everything is done by hand. We use the best ingredients possible. Our goal is to create a restaurant style dinner at home with similar type flavors that you wouldn’t necessarily come up with on your own or have the patience to make,” he said.

Dinner A’Fare offers convenience.

“We’re not positioned to replace every meal. We understand that your children want you to cook those things you’re fantastic at and they love. That’s how our concept is designed. We know you’re still going to go out for pizza. That’s going to happen, and we still do that. It’s those nights where you don’t necessarily want to go out to a restaurant. You don’t necessarily want fast food. This absolutely puts it on autopilot,” Wright said.

Wright understands the business concept is successful from his own experience. “When we had (our daughter), I looked at my wife and said, ‘I get it. I understand why we’re still in business.’ We had her during the recession and we’re still going strong. Moms didn’t get any less busy during the recession. They got more busy. They took on more responsibilities. We got busier because we started delivering right to their doors. It’s an extra level of convenience,” he said.

Dinner A’Fare will appeal to everyone. “While it’s gourmet food because of the way we make them, you can leave out a chicken breast for your daughter or son who doesn’t want something so spicy or flavorful. It’s also children friendly,” Wright said.

To order from Dinner A’Fare, visit dinnerafare.com or call (770) 662-3001. Deliveries in Cobb County are on Monday and Thursday. Dinners can be delivered to your cooler when no one is home.
