The Cobb County Water System reported a wastewater manhole overflow, resulting in about 170 gallons discharged into a tributary of the Chattahoochee River, occurred at 10:18 a.m. Tuesday at 490 Six Flags Drive in Austell. The overflow, which was the result of grease, was stopped at 11:45 a.m.

Water System workers washed out the main line and limed the six-foot by 10-foot spill area, which stained gray a three-foot by 200-foot area of the creek that ran into a private lake.
