Reader agrees with King, Isakson on border crisis

DEAR EDITOR:

The news report in Saturday’s MDJ (“Effect of immigration crisis on Cobb County remains unknown”) had remarks from various people about the rush on the borders by what the press constantly calls “children.”

As D.A. King made clear in a recent MDJ column, Border Patrol agents tell us that most of these illegal aliens are not children.

I have also read that the Border Patrol agents are now catching diseases such as scabies, lice, tuberculosis, chicken pox and swine flu from the hordes of illegals and have inadvertently passed these afflictions on to their own American children. With school starting, it is not hard to see the calamity Obama has caused with his lawlessness on immigration. And that the effect here in Cobb will soon be impossible to ignore.

I couldn’t help but shake my head as I read the quote from amnesty proponent Jerry Gonzalez when he rejects the concept of sending the illegals back to their own Third-World nations, and then says we should follow what he says is “the rule of law.” Gonzalez told state legislators in 2011 that we can’t afford to enforce the rule of law because of budget shortages when the General Assembly was considering what is now state immigration law aimed at stopping illegal immigration in Georgia. The same article had D.A. King offering a solution, saying that the first thing we must do is to secure the border.

U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson sent out his weekly email newsletter last week with his position on the border crisis and was on the same page as King. He says, “Our first priority in addressing this humanitarian crisis has to be securing the border, and I believe we should deploy the National Guard to the Mexican border to aid in this crisis. A second step we must take immediately to address this crisis at the border is to ensure that those who have entered this country illegally can be quickly and efficiently returned to their home countries.”

My wife is a (legal) immigrant, and we only vote for candidates with a strong enforcement position on immigration. Call us “pro-American” and fed up. We take the side of D.A. King and Sen. Isakson and reject the anti-American deceitfulness of Jerry Gonzalez and Barack Obama.

The hundreds of illegals brought recently to Dalton, GA and who will be enrolling in that school system, presumably, do NOT SPEAK ENGLISH OR SPANISH, but a tribal language called 'mam." Who is going to pay for this? I nominate Kevin Foley and his video production company. Kevin needs to mentor some of these "refugees" or sit down and be quiet.

Papermill gal (whoever you are) - If I'm first on your list of progressives to attack I must be doing something right!

Go read Coulter's piece today about how Christian missionaries - and that must include all of those local Christians who go on third world missions - are narcissists. You sound like just the sort of hater who simply ADORES Ann.

Funny what idiot liberals regard as an "attack" isn't it? I wonder how you say "idiot liberal" in Mam?

Foley, you are a hater. And that IS an attack.

The illegal children coming to Ga. will most certainly be exempt from inoculations and will bring a threat of all kinds of diseases and ilnesses to our school district, TB, hepatitis, etc. Unfortunately, there are too many kids already who on the basis of "religion" exempt themselves from being vaccinated putting our kids who follow the rules at risk. The ccsd will have to absorb these kids. The budget may look good right now, but with ESOL, free breakfasts and lunches and all the other programs these kids will need, I anticipate class sizes increasing, budget dollars being sucked away by these additional hundreds of kids.

You are wrong.. First they are not illegal they are refugees, there's a difference google it. Second, each child is checked my medical personnel while being processed. Finallt, Cobb County might see at most a handful of kids at most. I do agree the religious exception is a threat.

Well you better go back, they are awaiting REFUGEE status. I guess to you anyone is illegal even if they were trying to escape the NAZi's. You tea party haters are pathetic.

Mr Litland has said almost exactly what I have been thinking about this danger to our nation. It is wonderful to be able to read opinions from real patriotic Americans. Thank you to the newspaper for allowing the majority to be heard. I too enjoy D.A. King's columns and wish he was in the paper more often. I learn more from him than what is presented as 'news'. I notice that outrageous liberal Kevin a Foley stays away from immigration related writing.

I think that is a smart decision for him. He is nearly completely dismissed already. I like it that Mr Litland describes himself and his immigrant wife. We need more, not less common sense and pro-American voices.

GREAT letter! Maybe Mr. Litland could replace that parrot Kevin Foley in the MDJ. Not as much laughter, but more Americanism.

Ruthie B (whoever you are) - The MDJ already has a lot of fact-free right wing commentary.
