CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Bartow County sheriff's officials are investigating an attempted attack on a state park trail in Cartersville.

Sheriff's officials said in a statement that a 19-year-old woman was biking the Iron Mountain Trail Tuesday morning when she noticed a yellow square object atop a tree stump and saw a man lying near it.

The woman told investigators she heard what sounded like a Taser being deployed and wires shot toward her helmet didn't stick. Investigators say the woman fled and asked others on the trail for help.

Authorities say the suspect is described as a white man in his 40s who was wearing a green baseball cap and may have had on camouflage clothing.

A woman was also severely beaten on the Silver Comet trail in Paulding County July 29.
