St. Peter and St. Paul Episcopal Church in Marietta will play host to the Cool Girls, Back to School Shopping Day today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Church members and local volunteers will come together to sort, organize and hand out hundreds of items donated from parishioners and local businesses.

The event welcomes 200 girls ages 7 to 14 from around the Atlanta area. These girls have participated in a yearlong program that teaches and empowers them to strive and prosper in school and beyond. They will have a fun-filled day of dancing, singing, making a craft and shopping for new and gently used age-appropriate accessories, beauty needs, pajamas, school supplies and many other items.

Cool Girls Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the self-empowerment of girls.

The church is at 1795 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta.
