MARIETTA — The state department of transportation is advising Cobb motorists of road closures this weekend.

Two right-side lanes on Interstate 285 north lanes between South Cobb Drive and Paces Ferry Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for concrete slab replacement and repair.

Left-side lanes in both directions of I-285 will be closed for the same period of time between Powers Ferry Road and I-75 for work on signs.

There will also be intermittent closures throughout the weekend on North Cobb Parkway near the intersection with Canton Road Connector as contractors conclude a resurfacing project.

The DOT says motorists should strongly consider alternate routes to avoid delays. It also suggests calling 511 or consulting 511ga.org to learn the current work status and traffic conditions.
