Local promoted to Bank of North Georgia executive vice president

Bank of North Georgia, which has a Kennesaw and two Marietta locations, announced that Regional Community Executive Chris Mixon has been promoted to Executive Vice President. Mixon will continue to lead the Commercial Lending teams in the north Fulton, Gwinnett, Forsyth, DeKalb, Rockdale, Henry and Newton County markets in metro Atlanta.

“Chris is an influential leader and is genuinely admired by his customers and team,” said Rob Garcia, president/CEO. “We are confident he will continue to be instrumental in our growth in his region.”

Mixon has more than 20 years of experience in commercial banking, specifically with the medical, dental, legal, manufacturing and service industries. He joined Bank of North Georgia in 2008 as the Community Executive for the Johns Creek and Norcross markets. Since that time, his role has continued to expand. In 2012, he was presented with the Bank of North Georgia WOW Leadership Award in recognition of his exceptional job performance while making outstanding contributions to the company in the areas of leadership and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, vision, communication and coaching.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Georgia. He is a graduate of the Synovus Leadership Institute, Leadership Johns Creek and will graduate from Stonier Graduate School of Banking in 2015. He is a past president of the Rotary Club of Windward.

Mixon also is a board member for the North Metro Miracle League and coaches various youth sports in Alpharetta.
