Obama reconsidered: a portrait of success

America is changing and changing fast. The change is precipitated by a president who is erroneously viewed by conservatives as incompetent.

But President Obama is not incompetent. How can he be incompetent when his own agenda is moving along swimmingly? What conservatives view as one scandal after another is but one step after the other in the President’s remake of America.

In spite of the recent victory of religious conservatives in the Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby ruling, progressives (that is, liberals who are trying to adopt a more acceptable name) are still winning most of the policy battles, thanks to lower courts and the president’s pen.

There are two policy battlefields in particular that illustrate the President’s competence and success. On one of them — illegal immigration — he has been actively inactive. On the other — same sex marriage — he has been more direct and involved. Both of these battlefields are deemed pivotal by the president.

It is a weak nation that cannot protect its borders. It’s an even weaker one that has the ability but not the will to do so. There is another way beside weak or not weak, however, to view President Obama’s lack of leadership on illegal immigration.

For instance, is the pouring of children across our southern border —without a word from the president — a sign of incompetence and weakness or a sign of precise intentions on his part? The answer is his silence is thunderous. It is evidence he is achieving what he set out to achieve, namely a transformed America. With nary a word of serious, coherent outrage from the opposition, we might add.

In fairness to the president, he did say something last week about the Central America Children’s Crusades. He stated that immigration is part of America’s DNA. There should be no doubt about the meaning or purpose of that remark. Its meaning is “I have a chair and I will park myself in it and ignore illegal immigration.” Its purpose was to show his base and the rest of us that his game plan for remaking America is still on.

But as one movie ad puts it, “To remake America, you must first unmake America.” Given Obamacare, immigration inaction and the president’s change of heart on same sex marriage, the unmaking and r-making are in full swing. Coupled with his concurrent lack of leadership on the VA and IRS scandals, it’s clear that the inaction is intentional.

Yes, the president means business, and Congressional leaders are re-acting like Neville Chamberlain instead of Patrick Henry. Progressives view the children’s crusades in humanitarian terms only. Ignoring the practical concerns of disease, potential terrorism, and the economic impact on border towns and counties, progressives advance the President’s remake.

A more internal remake is the rapid redefining of marriage and its effect on the traditional role of families. Like Hillary Clinton, Mr. Obama has made a complete turn on same sex marriage. His flip-flop can probably be attributed to his supposed political capital got by virtue of his re-election.

The president and same sex marriage proponents still need to answer a couple of questions. One is how can you deny same sex marriage will lead to clamor for all kinds of “marriage” arrangements. If a man can love and marry another man, is it as great a leap for him to love and marry three women? At the very least, such a polygamous arrangement would not defy nature or biology as does same sex marriage.

Does anyone think there are no polygamy proponents standing in line to receive their “marriage equality” as well? I have a young libertine friend who is both playful and serious about the matter, awaiting his turn to marry multiple women with the government’s blessing.

Illegal immigration leads to nations within a nation, to “ethnos rising against ethnos,” to unassimilated pockets of citizens, to an underclass that could have been avoided. It constitutes remake from the outside.

Redefining marriage leads to familial confusion that tears at the very fabric of “home,” and safe haven — psychological as well as physical — for children. It constitutes remake from within.

We should expect the occasional speech from the president that sounds like a moderation of his transformational agenda, but beware: socialist/collectivist strategy has always been to take two steps forward and one step back, advancing all the while.

2016 will tell the tale. If Americans prefer to reclaim the ideas and policies that brought them to unprecedented freedom, opportunity, and social stability, we will know it. If they prefer that the transformation continue, we will know that as well.

Doesn't anyone realize that Obama is just a puppet for the real power in Washington? They got him elected, they are looking the other way when he makes/changes laws because if anyone rises up they scream racism. It is a sad time in our country and it is going to get worse

Great piece, Roger. Full of honesty and clear perception, regardless of how painful it is for those of us who believe in the nation our Founders intended when they crafted the Constitution.

Practically every crisis we face is intentionally imposed, planned and orchestrated by the current administration. The border crisis is just another step in the path. And, few of our people have the time to learn and understand what is being done to them. Such a shame.

Thank you for writing the truth.

"If a man can love and marry another man, is it as great a leap for him to love and marry three women?" In the near future do not be surprised if the Supreme Court rules that a man can love and marry a corporation or that he can love and marry three corporations!" This would be totally consistent with their belief that corporations people.

Roger, it is easy to be idealistic when you have "no skin in the game". A recent survey of millennials indicated that a majority identified as "Socialists", with 16% of them not even knowing what the term means. We also know that when there is no skin in the game that emotion trumps logic and common sense. That is one reason so many young people flocked to Obama with his "slick" street organizing rhetoric. It should be obvious to most " independent thinking" citizens that is was never the intent of Obama to govern.

Radical transformations require a number of key ingredients. Obama has very cleverly incorporated the six (6) of Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals to accomplish his goal of Transforming America. 1. Power Politics and the " Phony Language" of Morality. 2. The "Haves and Have-Nots, the politics of division. 3. Agitation and Trouble Making. 4. Depicting you opponents as Evil and Heartless. 5. Focus on constant Distraction. 6. Taunt your opponent until you are labeled "Dangerous".

Obama, the "Community Organizer" has been masterful and undeterred in the incorporation of these Alinsky tactics. Unfortunately most Americans are totally unfamiliar with Saul Alinsky, who himself was a "Community Organizer" and is considered the founder of modern community organizing. He wrote the book "Rules for Radicals" from which our "Commander in Thief" has adopted his radical strategy for the transformation of America. It should also be noted that Hilary Clinton wrote her Senior Honors Thesis at Wellesley College on Saul Alinsky and was enamored by his organizing genius. What is a sad fact is that a majority of Democrats, blinded by ideology, have succumbed to the phony music of this "Pied Piper" in the White House and are blindly following him to their own doom.

Yes Barak Hussein Obama is definitely incompetent in governing, which he never intended to do, but he is very adept at utilizing the Community Organizing skills he learned through Alinsky's radical tactics and is facilitating transformational change in America.

WAKE UP AMERICA before it's too late, our values, traditions, freedoms and liberty are being consumed by this radical Charlatan's vengeance.

ECS (who may well be Mel Fein) - "Alinsky, pied piper, socialists, organizing, doom, yadda yadda yadda."

Broken record. Get some new material, will ya?

Foley, I will be more than glad to get some new material when we get "NEW" leadership in Washington DC and get rid of that incompetent Charlatan in the White House. Speaking of new material, your screwed up "Socialist" songs are getting pretty old and boring to a vast majority of those that even take the time to read your garbage. But to expect a nincompoop half wit ultra Liberal Obama apologist to come up with a new or original thought would be more than a stretch.

You are so correct. Obama is not an incompetent moron the current Vice President notwithstanding. Obama knows exactly what he is doing and is very good at it. But then again so are black widow spiders, rattlesnakes and the drug resistant strain of TB are very good at what they do too.

Roger, Obama has said plenty about the kids coming from violently crime ridden, poverty stricken Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.

You're just not listening while paying too much attention to Republicans (again) politicizing the crisis rather than helping Obama find solutions (see my nearby column on the economy).

Case in point, this:

WASHINGTON (AP) — A key Republican said Friday that President Barack Obama's multibillion-dollar emergency request for the border is too big to get through the House, as a growing number of Democrats rejected policy changes Republicans are demanding as their price for approving any money.

The developments indicated that Obama faces an uphill climb as he pushes Congress to approve $3.7 billion to deal with tens of thousands of unaccompanied children who have been arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border from poor and gang-ridden Central American nations. And they suggested that even as the children keep coming, any final resolution is likely weeks away in Congress..

The real problem with these children from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala is simply "THEY ARE THE WRONG COLOR FOR REPUBLICANS". If they were from Canada, Ireland or Britain they would be as welcome as the first robin of spring!

Comrade Kevin again you hit another homerun with your excellent observation of the stingy Republican old white male controlled House not giving Obama his request for a measly couple of billion dollars for all of these uninvited guest children.

However, if like minded good guys like you would just step up to the plate and pay voluntarily the child support these kids need then the stingy old white male controlled Republican House can be bypassed. This way no one would be forced to pay child support for them if they didn't want to.

Heck, tithing at least 10% of annual income to a church as a lot of people do then you and others of like mind can send at LEAST 10% or more of your income as child support for all of these future taxpayers and rocket surgeons and brain scientists. See there is a simple solution for this child support problem only if you and other of Obama's flying monkeys would just man up and dig deep into your own pockets. (hint: the Wizard of Oz movie remember?)

"(see my nearby column on the economy)."

Don't bother. It was nothing more than the same ol' Democrat, shallow, empty, talking points. You know, the stale misleading statistics, e.g., the unemployment rate is now 6.1%!
