The Cobb County Branch NAACP is sponsoring a forum for state runoff candidates July 17.

Organizers say all the candidates on Cobb’s runoff ballots have been invited to participate in the event, which is set for 7 p.m. in the Cobb Commissioner’s room at 100 Cherokee St. in Marietta.

Cobb NAACP President Deane Bonner says the forum will “give candidates the opportunity to address issues in our communities, (including) fair sentencing, quality education, jobs, transparency in government, school parks and playgrounds in neighborhood, cultural enhancements  and public health and safety.”

The forum will be moderated by Earl Holliday, an assistant professor at Kennesaw State University.
