DEAR EDITOR,

Any fair-minded, objective listener who has heard Mr. Loudermilk expound on his military service — for which I thank him — cannot help but conclude that he has indeed purposely embellished his record, much like John Kerry did. People who are predisposed to give Loudermilk the benefit of the doubt are naturally inclined to accept his hyperbole, which is carefully crafted to invite the favorable inference.

After reviewing Loudermilk's DD214, the contents of same indicate he does not qualify for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

While this means little to civilians who have never served in the U.S. military, it says everything to military veterans, particularly when someone seeking public office embellishes their military service record.

When a veteran does not qualify for VFW membership, any attempt to embellish their service record is going to set off many alarms, and it has!

Well said. It's also time for Barry to present his DD214-4, which also includes the reason and type of discharge.

The DD214 long form or copy 4 will shed much light on why Loudermilk left active duty at the eight year point and did not stay on until the 20 year mark.

It will show the character of service, and the three digit or alphabetic code will reveal why he left at the eight year mark. There is much more to be revealed about Loudermilk's military service.

Show the form Barry! What is there to hide?
