Police capture last of 4 suspects in murder

Cobb County Sherriff’s deputies arrested Tyrell Lavance Vereen Thursday on charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm while committing a felony.

Vereen was the last suspect of four in a May 18 double homicide shooting on Cardell Road in Austell, police said.

The deputies caught Vereen after a chasing him through woods along Westwood Parkway in Austell, after they found him at an apartment complex on that road.

He was eventually arrested near Factory Shoals Road, police said.

The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation, police said.
