MARIETTA — An Austell man and woman are in custody after police say they robbed three victims at gunpoint May 16.

According to arrest warrants, Benjamin Blackerby and Jennifer Slay lured a trio of victims to a motel that evening under the pretense of selling them tools and power equipment.

Police say Slay drove a car to and from the scene, located off Windy Hill Road, where they say Blackerby used a handgun to force victims to hand over money, phones and car keys, among other items.

Blackerby has been charged with three counts of armed robbery, while Slay is facing one count. Both suspects are being held in the county jail without bond.
