KENNESAW — A Kennesaw executive has been selected to participate as a member of the U.S. Army War College 60th Annual National Security Seminar in Carlisle, Pa.

Hank Picken, president and CEO at Beaumont Products Inc., is one of about160 business, government, academic and community leaders from across the country taking part in the seminar, which runs from June 1 to 5, according to a release.

During the seminar, participants will interact with prospective senior leaders of the U.S. Armed Forces and, in turn, give the senior military students a deeper understanding of the society they serve, the release says.

During the event, speakers — including Gen. Barry McCaffrey, who commanded the 24th Infantry division during Operation Desert Storm, and Rachel Maddow, an MSNBC political commentator and talk show host — will discuss their views on important issues regarding the nation’s security and welfare with U.S. military officers, senior federal civilians, international officers and the NSS Fellows, the release says. Each attendee joins one of 20 student seminar groups and becomes an active participant in seminar discussions, sharing from their own background, experience, beliefs and perspectives on these issues.

Beaumont Products, at 1560 Big Shanty Drive, manufactures eco-friendly consumer products, including Citrus Magic, Veggie Wash, Trewax, Brilliant Metal Polish and Clearly Magic.
