DEAR EDITOR:

As a retired educator who cares about the education of Cobb County students, I urge the Cobb County Board of Education to respond positively to Stanley Wrinkle’s appeal in his May 20 guest column, “Cobb Students to be Penalized for Common Core?”

Dr. Wrinkle’s credentials in the service of the school system speak for themselves, and he is held in high regard in the educational community at large.

He speaks fervently of the cost to both teachers and students when the Mathematics Text Adoption was held up due to the Common Core Standards becoming politicized. Action needs to be taken quickly to correct this situation.

Board members, pay attention!
