Mildred Smith, born on November 29, 1924, passed away Tuesday, May 20, at Tranquility Hospice. She is survived by husband of 61 years Roy E. Smith, daughter Donna Smith of Smyrna, sons Rev. David Smith of Baltimore, and Rev. Daniel Smith, daughter-in-law Leslie Ray Smith and beloved granddaughters Amy Christine and Jessica Kathryn of Waynesville, NC, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by sister Louise Blaisdell, and brothers Charles, William and Steve. A member of Marietta First Baptist Church she previously belonged to Druid Hills Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School, was an active member of the WMU and volunteered at the welcome center. She served on the DFACS Citizen Review Panel. An employee of the City of Atlanta at City Hall for her entire career, she also served in the Women’s Army Corp. in WWII. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, June 15, at Marietta First Baptist Church 148 Church Street, 30060, at 3 PM.
