Jamesio Tirrell Hayes, of Marietta, was given $45,000 bond on charges related to rape. Hayes is charged with aggravated assault with intent to rape, false imprisonment and simple battery stemming from a May 8 incident in Marietta.

According to police, Hayes grabbed the victim and pinned her down in an attempted rape, but the victim was able to escape. The warrant states Hayes pulled the victim to the ground three times inside a house, but she escaped each time.

Pinning her to the ground also led to the false imprisonment charges. Police say a witness saw the victim running out of the house and claiming Hayes tried to rape her.

The warrant also states the victim had a torn shirt and visible injuries consistent with being pulled to the ground. The injuries led to the charge of simple battery.
