MARIETTA — Cobb Police are seeking the public’s help in nabbing a suspected armed bank robber who police say fled the scene in a stolen car.

At 9 a.m. on Saturday morning Officer Mike Bowman with the Cobb Police said a black man, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, entered a Chase bank on the corner of Powder Springs Road and Macland Road brandishing a weapon.

The suspect approached one of the tellers and demanded money from her cash drawer.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the area in a black Honda, which was parked at the side of the bank, Bowman said.

The 2007 Honda Accord was reported stolen from Gwinnett County on April 30.

According to Cobb Police, the robber was last seen wearing all black clothing, a baseball cap, dark work gloves, muddy black work boots and a cloth mask covering his face.

Last week, Marietta Police responded to the scene of a bank robbery at the SunTrust Bank on Sandy Plains Road, north of Marietta near the Publix grocery store west of Scufflegrit Road.

Officer David Baldwin of the Marietta Police Department said a tall black man in his 20s, over six feet tall with a “thin build,” wearing all black clothing, including a hoodie and a dark blue bandanna wrapped around his face, demanded money from a teller while brandishing a black semi-automatic handgun.

According to police, after stealing an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot. Officers were able to track muddy footprints they say were left by the suspect a half a block away to where Marietta Police believe he had a car waiting, Baldwin said.

Cobb Police released images taken from surveillance cameras at the Chase bank. Anyone with information is asked to call 770-499-3945.

Perhaps you should post the pictures from the surveillance cameras. It would make it easier to offer help finding the culprit!
