Taylor Consulting plans to join Bennett Thrasher

Cumberland-based Bennett Thrasher LLP and the Taylor Consulting Group announced the signing of a letter of intent to join forces.

Taylor Consulting Group has a 25-year history of providing financial advisory services to clients across the Southeast, primarily focused in the valuation, dispute resolution and transactional advisory areas.

“Bringing the entire Taylor team on board at Bennett Thrasher will greatly enhance, strengthen and complement our existing valuation, forensics and dispute resolution service lines. We’re thrilled to add Rob Taylor, Gina Miller and the rest of the Taylor Consulting Group associates to our team,” said Patrick Braley, leader of Bennett Thrasher’s Disputes, Valuation and Forensics Practice.

Effective immediately, Bennett Thrasher and Taylor Consulting Group will operate through a strategic alliance enabling the two firms to utilize their collective resources to meet the needs of their clients. The formal union is expected to be concluded by July 1.


Acadia announces new community

Cumberland-based Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods announces the opening of Covenant Place in Powder Springs, priced in the low $200s.

Powder Springs native Hannah Rickards is the sales manager. She joined the Acadia team in September 2013 as sales manager for Reece Farms in Powder Springs.


County to have business seminars

The Cobb County Purchasing Department and Keep It In Cobb will have three seminars on “How To Do Business With Cobb County,” where participants can learn about vendor opportunities, meet department representatives and network with local business owners.

The first seminar will be 5 to 7 p.m. May 13 at the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, 240 Interstate North Parkway in the Cumberland area. The other seminars will be Aug. 20 at the Cobb County Board of Commissioners offices, 100 Cherokee Street in Marietta; and Oct. 7 at Kennesaw State University’s KSU Center.

Numerex named a TAG Top 40

Cumberland-based Numerex Corp., a leading provider of on-demand and interactive machine-to-machine enterprise solutions enabling the Internet of Things, announced that the Technology Association of Georgia, the state’s leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia’s technology industry, tapped Numerex as one of the Top 40 Innovative Technology Companies in Georgia.

TAG’s Top 40 Awards recognize Georgia-based technology companies for their innovation, financial impact and their efforts at spreading awareness of Georgia’s technology initiatives throughout the United States and globally.

FMG Opens Offices in Philadelphia, Tampa, New Jersey

Freeman Mathis & Gary has opened new law offices in Philadelphia, Tampa and New Jersey effective April 1. The firm will now operate a total of eight offices in Atlanta, Forest Park (GA), San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County (CA), Philadelphia, Moorestown (NJ) and Tampa.

The Atlanta office is located in the Cumberland area of Cobb at 100 Galleria Parkway, Suite 1600. FMG’s Philadelphia Office will serve clients in Eastern Pennsylvania, the Moorestown Office will serve clients in all of New Jersey, and the Tampa office will serve clients throughout central Florida.

Jennifer Ward will lead a team of attorneys formerly with the law firm of Spector, Gadon & Rosen, PC. Ms. Ward is an accomplished trial attorney and has been recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal as one of the “New Leaders of the Bar” and has also been recognized by Super Lawyers. Her practice group will concentrate in commercial litigation and professional liability, including employment law, contract disputes, errors and omissions for lawyers, architects, engineers and other professionals, and directors and officers litigation.
