Starting at 12:17 a.m. at 2681 Delk Road, Shoat is accused of attacking a woman with a steak knife and stabbing her in the right arm. The victim was able to get away but police said Shoate chased her around the parking lot with the knife in hand and left in the victim’s vehicle after taking her keys off the ground.
Just minutes later, the warrant says the two got into a fight. Police say Shoate grabbed the victim by her hair and tried to push her thumbs into the victim’s eyes. The victim landed a blow to Shoate’s face, which made her lose her grip, but Shoate then tried to cover the victim’s mouth and nose with her hands, which was only stopped when the victim bit her.
The victim tried to run away, the warrant states, but Shoate allegedly kicked her in the back. The victim was left with scratches on her eyes, face, neck, nose and arms.
During the incident, police said Shoate also caused damage to a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu and a 2005 Honda Civic. They say she kicked a large dent into the door of the Malibu and threw her body into the Civic, leaving more than $500 in damage to both cars.
Another victim was pregnant. The warrant says Shoate grabbed the pregnant woman by her hair and tried to push her thumb into the victim’s left eye. She then began trying to kick the victim and dragged her by her hair. Police said they broke up the fight.
While being led away in handcuffs, Shoate kicked a man between the legs, police say. The entire event was witnessed by a three year old and a 16 year old.
Shoate was charged with aggravated assault, battery leaving visible harm, two counts of second degree criminal damage, two counts of third degree cruelty to children, simple battery and battery against a pregnant woman.
