Bethany D. Chapple passed away on April 22, 2014. Born September 14, 1939 in Galveston, Texas, he is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Oneida Chapple; daughter, Curlie Chapple; son, Michael Chapple (wife, Myrna); grandchildren, Alexandria, Nicole (husband, Nicholas), Vanessa, Misty, Mandy, Shawan; and great-grandchildren, Xavier, Elecia, and Alaina. Chappy received his bachelor’s degree from University of Texas at El Paso and his master’s degree from Seton Hall University. Also a Marine, he played football for the N.Y. Jets, played golf, and enjoyed all sports. A former resident of Bayonne, NJ, he retired as a high school teacher, football coach, and athletic trainer. He was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. A resident of Powder Springs, GA, he was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and was a 4TH Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to all those who have shared their and love, prayers, and support. I remember Mr. Chapple from BHS. He was always a good man with a smile on his face. My condolences to his wife and family. May he rest in Peace.

I remember Mr. Chapple from Bayonne High School, the gym. For me, hell; he mercifully sent me on my way to an alternative acting class. It changed my life. Go with God.

I will always remember Mr. Chapple. He was a big part of my High School years. He helped me through a lot of difficult times. My prayers are with Curlie, Michael and Mrs. Chapple. May he rest in peace.

I remember Mr. Chappel from my Bayonne High Scool days. He was well loved. My condolences to his family during this very sad time. God bless.
