Decosimo, a Top 100 regional public accounting and advisory firm with an office at 2839 Paces Ferry Road SE in the Cumberland area, announced Brian Joyce recently earned the designation of Certified Common Security Framework Practitioner from the Health Information Trust Alliance.

As the director of Information Technology and Security for Decosimo, Joyce oversees all aspects of the firm’s IT needs, including planning, design and implementation of network systems. He is also responsible for overseeing client and server-side applications and security analysis.

The Common Security Framework is the most widely adopted information security criteria in the U.S. healthcare industry. The HITRUST CSF Assurance Program is the most commonly utilized program for assessing the security posture of business associates and managing third-party compliance.

Joyce leads Decosimo’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act compliance risk assessment services offered to health care entities and the various business associates of health care entities who must comply with the complex HIPAA Security, Privacy and Breach Notification Rule or face stiff monetary penalties.

In addition to the CSF, Joyce holds the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium’s highest designation, the CISSP certificate. He has also earned several Global Information Assurance Certifications. The Certified Incident Handler, Security Essentials and the Critical Infrastructure Protection are also among the designations he has gained through his continuing education efforts.
