A Mableton man was arrested by Cobb Police after they say he caused the unintentional death of another man.

On April 10 at 10:25 p.m. at the Mableton Reserve Apartments, off Mableton Parkway near Six Flags Over Georgia, a verbal altercation between Otis Laws and the man turned physical, according to the warrant.

Cobb Police say Laws punched the man in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. He then struck his head against the pavement and was knocked unconscious. The man later died at the hospital from head trauma.

Laws faces a misdemeanor charge of simple battery and a felony charge of involuntary manslaughter. Although he was granted a $50,000 bond, Laws has not been released from the Cobb County jail.
