DEAR EDITOR:

I couldn’t agree more with (Marietta City Councilman Stuart Fleming’s) remark that “Most taxpayers would say they don’t want to spend $2 million on the Marietta Museum of History (over 10 years).”

I say that’s not nearly enough. I say $4 million is more appropriate for a museum of such scope, vitality and inherent cultural value. And it would be my pleasure to pay for the councilman’s admission fee if he will actually visit the museum and see it for himself.

If the so-called museum is so valuable, why not let the free enterprise system take a shot at it? Why not let the businesses that supposedly benefit from the museum take over and fund it? Then we will see what's what.

Why stop at $4 million? Heck, let government just take all my money and give it away.
