Proposed hotel by Galleria ‘insane’ idea

Does anyone realize how insane this proposal is? The proposed site is directly in front of the tall main entrance to the Galleria exhibition hall and will “sit” on an area now occupied by a two level parking deck about 100 feet wide by 200 feet long which can accommodate at most 120 cars. Removing that deck will only add to parking problems when shows/conventions occupy the exhibit halls.

Also, why is a California company being hired to solicit hotel builders; shouldn’t a Georgia or Cobb firm be hired? This proposal reeks of insanity and members of the Cobb Marietta Exhibit Hall Authority seem to be showing signs of mental deficiency or dementia.
