The Georgia Utility Contractors Association Inc. had its 2014 GUCA Hard Hat Safety Award Gala on March 20 to honor the 2013 Hard Hat Safety Award recipients. Blount Construction Co. in Marietta won the 100,000-plus Man-Hours Pipeline Contractor award.

The GUCA 2013 Hard Hat Safety Award is composed of categories based on type of work, plant or pipeline construction and if company man-hours exceed or stay below 100,000 or 400,000 hours.

GUCA is a nonprofit state trade association in metro Atlanta representing more than 280 contractor and affiliated firms statewide.
