Frances Hamilton scored the game-winning goal in the 74th minute off an assist from Sophia Kemether to lift Whitefield Academy past Galloway 2-1 in a nonarea girls soccer match.

Both squads entered the second half scoreless. Logan Pearce’s score in the 64th minute put Whitefield (3-6) in front, however Galloway answered roughly a minute later to knot the contest at 1- all.

Lauren Burke recorded five saves for Whitefield, which hosts Darlington on Monday.

Late Monday

Our Lady of Mercy 2, Whitefield Academy 0: The Lady Wolfpack didn’t have an answer for Nahyo Jalil, who accounted for both goals for Our Lady of Mercy.

Goalkeeper Lauren Burke ended up with 12 saves on the game, with nine coming in the first half.

Whitefield (2-6) was unable to get a shot in the first half but had four looks in the second.
