R. Marvin Ingram Jr. of Marietta, 76, passed away on March 29, 2014. Marvin was born in Columbus, Ga. and raised in Daytona Beach, Fla. where he graduated from Seabreeze High School.  He was preceded in death by his parents, R. Marvin Ingram Sr. and Margie Pitts Ingram. He graduated from Florida State University and from the Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development. He was a vice president in corporate lending and commercial real estate for Citizens and Southern National Bank (now Bank of America). After his banking career, he was active in commercial real estate development and textile manufacturing. He and his wife, Martha, owned Firstworld Travel of Atlanta, a corporate-based travel management company, for 26 years. He was commander of Sigma Nu fraternity at Florida State; two-term president of The Travel Industry Association of Georgia; president of the FSU Alumni Club of Atlanta; president of Skal International Atlanta; president of SE/Uniglobe Franchise Owners Association, and was on various travel industry boards. He was an avid Florida State football fan, attending games for over 25 years. He was a dedicated golfer at Marietta Country Club and a gourmet chef. He and his wife traveled all over the world, including over 40 cruises. He is survived by his wife, Martha McKinney Ingram as well as three children and their spouses: daughter, Laura Ingram of Austell; son, R. Marvin (Trey) Ingram III and his wife Christine of Mount Pleasant, S.C. and daughter Amy Pope and her husband Matt of Marietta plus a sister, Marie Towner of Houston, Texas. He had five grandchildren, Meghan White of Vinings, Noah, Nicholas and Phoebe Pope of Marietta, and Parker Ingram of Mount Pleasant, S.C.
