A man stands accused of aggravated assault with intent to murder, four counts of armed robbery with a weapon and felony possession of cocaine after an early-morning arrest on March 24.

Manuel Vargas Ramirez, a Marietta man in his mid-20s, was charged after police say he entered inside a Sandtown Road home in Marietta and shot a man in the chest in an attempted murder.

During the same incident, which took place at about 3:22 a.m., the police report says Ramirez took $200 from another man and pistol whipped him in the head with a silver handgun leaving visible injuries.

According to police, two other men also had money stolen by Ramirez at gunpoint, and a woman had her cellphone taken, according to police. Police cays he tried to rob yet another man but instead pistol whipped him when the man said he had no money.

Police say they found a small plastic bag of suspected cocaine in Ramirez’s left front pants pocket when they arrested him.

Jail records show the man has tattoos on his face, hands and arms. He was denied bond.
