MARIETTA — An Acworth woman faces hit-and-run charges after police say she allegedly hit a semi-trailer truck and fled the scene.

At 9:10 p.m. March 4, Jan McEver is accused of causing an accident after failing to signal when changing lanes, according to the warrant.

McEver’s car ran into a semi-trailer truck while driving on Interstate 75, near the Canton Road Connector, but she did not stop after the accident, the warrant said.

When McEver was booked in the Smyrna jail at midnight after the accident, she was in possession of Lorazepam, “which she admitted to not having a prescription,” the warrant said.

McEver’s arrest report included possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, a hit-and-run misdemeanor, and failure to signal.

She was granted a $2,000 bond and released the next day.
