At 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 11, according to warrants, Hayden Langston and Antonio Rodriguez, both of Marietta, Robert Carlson of Acworth and Elijah White of Kennesaw used a baseball bat to destroy mailboxes while joyriding in a pickup truck.
The majority of damaged property occurred along Kathryn Drive, near the corner of Bells Ferry and New Chastain roads.
Rodriguez was arrested Saturday and released the same day on a $25,000 bond. He will face 32 misdemeanor counts of destruction of mailboxes.
According to Cobb jail records, Carlson and White have not been arrested. But, White could be charged with two misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass.
According to the warrant, White intentionally shattered the windshield of a 2007 Mazda with a rock and damaged a 2003 Mercury Sable by tossing a trash can on top of the vehicle.
White was in the bed of the truck when he dragged the trash can down the road before tossing it, the warrant said.
Cobb Police say Langston was driving the truck as the three accomplices took turns at bat.
Langston faces an extra misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass after police say he damaged a silver 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe by shattering its windshield.
The warrant said, after Langston was read his Miranda rights, he admitted to throwing a McDonald’s cup of ice and liquid out of the moving truck and onto the windshield of a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.
“(Langston) admitted doing this and stated he did it because he was bored,” the warrant said.
