Instructor Jan Britt knew she had a worldclass program, but she didn’t know her “Interior Decorating for the Homeowner” class would prompt one prospective student to fly in from another country – just to take the course. Betty North, who hails from the Bahamas, found out about the program from her sister who lives in Kennesaw. She looked at similar courses in Florida – closer to home, she said – but decided that the College of Continuing and Professional Education offered the best option for her career goals.

“It was worth the trip,” North said. “I obtained a wealth of knowledge in the art of interior decorating attending this course.

It was a pleasure studying with Jan Britt.”

Britt said all her students are special, but she felt honored to know one made an international flight just for the opportunity to sit in her class. For her, it’s a first in 17 years of teaching.

The five-week class focuses on decorating the home, including colors, fabrics, furniture arrangement, flooring, photos and more. The next class begins Feb. 6 at KSU Center.

It’s held in the evenings, from 7 to 9:30 p.m., every Thursday through March 6.
