Super Hero 5K to benefit Kennesaw schools

The inaugural Super Hero 5K race benefiting the Kennesaw Big Shanty Foundation and the Law Enforcement Torch Run will be held March 23 at 7 a.m. on Cobb International Boulevard in Kennesaw. The 5K run/walk is a family-friendly event perfect for runners and walkers of all skill levels and ages.

Registration and check in will open at 7 a.m.; a one-mile fun run will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the 5K run/walk starting at 8 a.m. All participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superhero. Orion Racing will be helping to manage the run on a recently certified, flat course within the Cobb International Park.

The Kennesaw Big Shanty Foundation supports Kennesaw Elementary and Big Shanty Intermediate Schools by providing additional resources for the education of children and the promotion of fitness. The Kennesaw Police Department participates in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run which raises funds to support the programs of Special Olympics Georgia.
