Police investigate fatal pedestrian hit and run accident on I-75

Marietta Police are investigating a suspected hit and run fatal pedestrian crash which occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night.

When arriving to the scene, Marietta Police found the body of a man, who appeared to be in his early 20s, in the middle of the northbound lanes of I-75 at Delk Road.

The initial investigation revealed that the victim’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle, Officer David Baldwin said.But the Cobb medical examiner’s office will determine a cause of death.

No witnesses have come forward at this time and no suspect information is known, Baldwin said.

Investigators are currently trying to positively identify the victim and then notify family members.

Sad that this young man chose to cross the Interstate, at night, still effects of snow/ice present but I serioulsy doubt whomever ACCIDENTALLY hit him even knew he hit a person or even an object. Just a tragic accident.
