NEWPORT, Ky. (AP) — A pair of rare albino American alligators will be saying goodbye to northern Kentucky later this month and head south.

The Newport Aquarium says Snowball and Snowflake are two of fewer than 100 white alligators in the world. They will be taken off exhibit Feb. 28 to prepare to return to Wild Adventures Water & Theme Park in Valdosta, Ga.

The aquarium's Gator Alley exhibit showcases eight species from four continents and is home to Mighty Mike, the 14-foot, 800-pound gator that is the largest in the U.S. outside of Florida.

Through the end of the month, Newport Aquarium is running a winter special that admits two children 12 or younger free with one full-price adult ticket purchase.
