(June 6, 1918 – February 4, 2014) MARY (STALDER) JOHNSON passed away on February 4, 2014 in Birmingham, AL at the age of 95. She was born in Trading Post, Kansas moving to Canajoharie, NY as a child, eventually settling in Smyrna, GA, where she lived with her husband for 40 years. She was licensed as a Registered Nurse prior to World War II and worked in the health care field for some years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald E. Johnson. She is survived by 5 children; Dennis Johnson (Candice) of West Milford, NJ, Thomas Johnson (Susan) of Marietta, GA, Catherine Brower (Michael) of Syracuse, NY, Maureen Gleason (Russell) of Birmingham, AL and Martha Chapa (Al) of Broken Arrow, OK as well as 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Mary devoted her life to her family. A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Smyrna, GA on Saturday, February 15 at 9 a.m. It is requested that in lieu of flowers donations should be made to the American Lung Association.
