‘An epic failure’

The management of the school closing and transporting students home was nothing else then a epic failure on the part of the Hinojosa administration.

School closing should have occurred earlier, if not canceled all together. Recently, schools were closed because of the cold weather; what about Tuesday? Did the weather conditions not warrant closing the schools?

Does the School Board have a Continuity Plan, or a Disaster Recovery Plan that could have been activated? It appear that it was more Keystone Kops, instead of well thought out and tested emergency plan.

My personal stake is that my daughter did not get home until 10:30 p.m. School dismissed at 1 p.m. The buses were not available because they were still transporting younger children. Buses did not arrive until at 4 p.m. Because of traffic, the bus took over five hours to travel the 25 miles from Pebblebrook to East Cobb.

I commend the bus drivers for putting themselves at risk, protecting our children and ensuring our children were safely delivered.
