MARIETTA — On Wednesday evening, Cobb Police identified the Marietta man who was found dead in his home in east Cobb as 46-year-old Jerry Moore.

At about 6:30 p.m. Monday evening, Moore was found dead inside his home on Gracewood Drive, which is off Holly Springs Road north of Post Oak Tritt Road.

According to the Cobb County Tax Assessor’s office, the ranch home, built in 1974, has been owned by Moore since 2005.

Sgt. Dana Pierce, spokesman for Cobb County Police Department, said Tuesday that he would not speculate if the victim knew his killer.

“The homicide investigation is still active and ongoing, and the Cobb County Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit is not releasing the manner in which (the suspect or suspects) entered the house,” said Pierce.

Cobb Police are asking anyone with information about this case to call (770) 499-3945.
