It appears the state spent over $135 million the past two fiscal years on Emergency Medical Assistance for illegal immigrants. News nugget — these people are in the U.S. illegally. They should not be rewarded with free tax-funded health care, especially when our school systems are broke and police and other public safety departments have unfilled positions.
It’s even more outrageous when you consider the state of education funding and that law abiding citizens are paying hundreds if not thousands of dollars every month to buy Obama-mandated healthcare insurance coverage. I support charity and compassion, but we have plenty of people here in Georgia legally who need it. Remember, charity begins at home.
Also, it defies belief that we don’t hear a soul at the state Capitol saying a word about these expenditures. We’re in Georgia, not California — at least I thought we were!
